How Activities Need Shaking Up And Some Oomph Adding

Families have a lot of leisure time available to them thee days. Unlike their Victorian and Edwardian elders, paid employment is governed to be about 37.5 hours per week after luchtimes are taken out. This is vastly different to our forebears who would have worked many more hours, often in seriously grim conditions.

There were the mills up in Yorshire and Lancashire and coal mining in most of the northern counties. After the industrial revolution settled down and the factories acts came into force, limiting the hours folk works and stopping childen from attending work, then more resonable hours and weekends off started to be the norm. The more affluent families had less hours to work and a grreat deal more pay than their northern cousins. However it has evened out a lot more across the country now.

Leisure hours can be used on the most incredible selection of activities from reading and tv watching to sitting with an iPad for hours. Then there are the dog walks and rambling groups who go for miles across hills and dales. now for the inside occupations, we have a strong tradition of sewing and knitting with tv sows dedicated to these dark arts. We also have fantastic gyms and health clubs who are dedicated to bringing the best out of every memer when they attend. There are so many classes per week it’s difficult to choose just one or two!
